Things People Will Only Say When You're Pregnant

So, I've been pregnant now for quite awhile (a little TOO long if you know what I mean), and I have come to find just a few things people say that are really only socially acceptable when you're pregnant. Here are some of those things (imagine someone saying this to a non-pregnant woman):

"Wow! You haven't gained much weight at all!"

"Your belly is so cute!"

Near the due date: "How are you feeling today?"
"Oh, pretty good."
"Darn."
(This from my mother)

Past the due date: "Wow! I didn't expect to see you in church today."

I'm sure a lot of you women out there have many, many others. Feel free to put them in a comment, because sometimes I just sit back and laugh at how silly those would sound to a non-pregnant woman.

In other news, something fun Ryan and I have done twice now in the past month or two is go someplace random for dessert/dinner when we travel to a different city for some event. For example, we went to Saratoga Springs a couple of weeks ago to pick up some baby stuff from Ryan's aunt and decided we were going to get dinner and dessert at some place there that is not a national chain or somewhere we've been. We ended up having this awesome Peach Bomb at Emmit's and Ethel's in Lehi, where they also had tons of other yummy looking stuff and good looking dinner too. We've decided we'll have to go back there and eat dinner and try a different dessert sometime because it was truly delicious. And we just found it on the side of the road!

On Friday night this past week we went to a reception of one of Ryan's old mission companions in Heber and decided to grab some dessert there too. We ended up going to someplace called like Corner Sweet Treats or something that we found on the side of the main road where all of their ice cream is homemade right in the shop. It was kind of cool too because it was like an old-time ice cream shop feel and the older lady at the counter was all friendly and fun to talk to. I had rocky road (of course) and peach custard, and Ryan had cheesecake ice cream with a huckleberry compote topping. SO GOOD! The whole thing seemed all small-townsy and cute, and when we left the older lady told us "you let us know when that baby is born, ok?" Ryan and I agreed, but have no idea how we will tell this lady when the baby comes. But it was cute.

Anyways, we are determined to do this more since we have had such success already! It's kind of like a mini adventure.

Moving... Fun!

Hello! It's been way too long since we've put anything up here. Of course, right now I'm racing Tricia as we're both trying to write about something exciting we've done in the past month.

Anyway, we moved. Our last place was great, but only one bedroom, and with Little One on the way, we decided that we really needed to get a bigger place. It turns out that babies come with a lot of stuff. I never realized the extent of the stuff because I successfully convinced Tricia to wait until after we moved before buying anything (Okay, not anything, but most things).

Anyway, so about a month ago we began the very exciting process of selling off our furniture so we wouldn't have to move it. We have sold everything but the LoveSac. Still working on that, so if you know anyone who wants a sweet 5' LoveSac with an embroidered BYU cover, let us know.

Our new apartment is pretty much an upgrade in every way. Tricia has been loving central air, especially since she's pregnant. She always felt hot in our last place, so being able to actually control the temperature has been life changing. We feel really blessed to have such a great place fall into our laps.

Anyway, I wish there was more to say about it. We moved, and we love the new place. Maybe we'll put up some pictures of the baby's room later.

Our 2-Year Anniversary

On August 18th, 2009, Ryan and I celebrated our two year anniversary. It is a little hard to believe we've been married a whole two years because I still feel like a newlywed, totally in love with my new husband. He really is the greatest man, and every day I feel lucky to have married my best friend.

So, to celebrate, we decided to go to Pirate Island, a new Chuck-E-Cheese type place in Orem right next to Costco. We were hoping for the couple of weeks before our anniversary that it would open in time, because it's said "coming soon" for months now. Well, it did open in time, and we got to go on their opening night! It was a little slow, but we expected that due to training all the employees and such. It was also totally awesome!! The lobby made me totally feel like we were at a pirate-themed restaurant at Disneyland, which as many of you know, is one of my favorite places. Seriously, they did a really good job with the place, and we can't wait to go back. Here's us waiting to be seated:

We had a yummy pizza dinner and then played games like skee-ball and shooting basketballs. It was kind of funny because we were the only ones there without little kids. But we enjoy acting like children sometimes, so it worked out :) We also got like 150 tickets! Which was able to buy us like 4 pieces of candy. Those tickets just don't seem to get you what they used to.

After Pirate Island we went to see Night at the Museum 2 at the dollar theaters. It was pretty good, but I'm glad we only paid $4 to see it. I do like that there are still clean movies in the world though.

Anyways, all in all it was a great night, and a good celebration of two years of marriage. It's kind of weird to think how next anniversary we will be celebrating with our baby!
